To us there is nothing better than getting to eat and share good food. It is an extra privilege when you get to take part in growing and nurturing that food. Growing food at any scale requires some thought and dedication. Scaling those systems to feed communities requires precise skillsets to work within all the individual factors a farmer can experience. Farming for a living is often hard work that requires physical labor, long hours and dedication but, it is also a privilege.
Each farm often has similar goals but can operate extremely differently from one another. Every Farm will have unique systems to work within the individual needs, desires, resources, limitations, climate, etc... of the farm.
Farming is a very hands on skill and knowledge based job. It took us many years of trying, doing, failing, succeeding, reading, and most importantly: finding access to connecting with other farmers (our predecessors and our peers) to get to where we are today. After a decade WE STILL LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY. Farming requires a lot of consistency and adaptability. There is ALWAYS something that needs to be done and each year systems grow and change as needed.
AS A VOLUNTEER, there are many things for you to do on the farm, examples include: moving mulch or compost around, weeding our perennial beds or harvesting potatoes. More often than not we will be, right there with you, doing the same tasks.
Please fill out the sign up form below with your information to be added to our master list of volunteers. If you have specific days and times in mind let us know. By leaving your email in the form below you will be signed up to receive emails about special volunteer days and any other emails the farm sends out; don’t worry, they are fairly far and few between. We aim to send out emails only to highlight the big moments.
Thank you for your interest in farming! The world needs more farmers at multiple different scales as well as an interested and supportive community.
